Rao Chandrasen Rathore was a brave and defiant Rajput ruler of Marwar who is remembered for his unwavering resistance against the Mughal emperor Akbar. Born in 1541, he was the son of the powerful king Rao Maldeo Rathore, and inherited his father's strong will and sense of independence. After Maldeo’s death, Chandrasen succeeded the throne in 1562, but his claim was not recognized by Akbar, who supported rival claimants within the Rathore clan.
