Nagaland’s Hall Of Fame

S. C. Jamir, born on October 17, 1931, in Ungma village of Nagaland, is one of the most influential political leaders from the state. Belonging to the Ao Naga tribe, he has been a prominent figure in Nagaland’s political landscape for decades. Jamir served as the Chief Minister of Nagaland multiple times between the 1970s and early 2000s, making him one of the longest-serving leaders in that role. His tenure was marked by efforts to bring political stability to the region and promote development, especially in infrastructure and education.
