Teachers’ Day (India) is celebrated on September 5th, marking the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned philosopher and India’s second President. It was initiated in 1962, when Dr. Radhakrishnan suggested his birthday be observed to honor teachers and their invaluable contribution to society.

In India, Teachers’ Day is celebrated with students organizing cultural programs, giving speeches, and honoring their teachers with gifts and flowers. Schools hold special assemblies to recognize teachers’ contributions and inspire respect for education.
