The world’s shortest cow is Diana a seven year old Vechur cow born and bred at the Vechur Conservation Centre in Kerala India who on 9 November 2010 measured just 77 centimetres from hoof to withers this rare achievement brought renewed attention to the Vechur breed celebrated as the smallest cattle breed in the world with an average height of 90 centimetres and a weight of about 130 kilograms.
Despite its diminutive size the Vechur cow yields up to three litres of milk a day requiring minimal feed or maintenance and what makes it truly exceptional is the superior quality of its milk which has been praised in Ayurveda for medicinal value and further validated by Kerala Agricultural University studies showing higher fat and solid content with smaller fat globules making it especially beneficial for infants and patients
