Indian Book of Records - World Oceans Day

Protect our blue heart-India unites for oceans and sustainability.

Celebrating Blue Planet

World Oceans Day is observed on June 8th, officially recognized by the United Nations in 2008. It was first proposed at the Earth Summit in 1992 to raise global awareness about the crucial role oceans play in sustaining life and promoting marine conservation.

Protecting Ocean Life

In India, World Oceans Day is celebrated through coastal clean-up drives, marine awareness campaigns, and educational programs by environmental organizations and coastal communities. These activities aim to promote ocean conservation and sustainable use of marine resources.

Celebrate World Oceans Day with Us- Share & Be Honored!

If you or your organization celebrate World Oceans Day and share photos or videos of your clean-up drives or marine awareness events, we’ll proudly feature them in our Gallery and Videos section. As a mark of respect, the Indian Book of Records will send you a Certificate of Appreciation recognizing your efforts to protect our oceans.
