Pooja Dhanda

Pooja Dhanda is an elite wrestler from Budana village in Hisar district, Haryana, who has made a significant mark in the world of Indian wrestling through her dedication and outstanding performances. Born in 1994, she overcame early life challenges and injuries to rise as one of the country’s top female wrestlers. Pooja has earned medals at prestigious international events, including a bronze at the 2018 World Wrestling Championships and a silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She also won a silver medal at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, showcasing her talent from a young age.

Her achievements have been recognized with the Arjuna Award, one of India’s highest sporting honors. Pooja Dhanda serves as an inspiration for aspiring wrestlers, especially young women from rural backgrounds, proving that with perseverance and hard work, barriers can be broken and dreams realized on the global stage.
